Lisa Tomasetti (b.1963) currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia. She graduated with a Master degree in Photography from Sydney College of the Arts in 2014 and has been working as a photographer and visual artist for the last 25 years. Her eye for cinematic drama comes through in her dance photography, a collection of images in which she is able to capture the beautiful elegance of ballet dancers set against the more rough, gritty urban city streets of Paris, Tokyo, and New York.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in London, Shanghai and Barcelona and collected by numerous institutions, including the South Australia Art Museum, West Australia Art Museum, ArtBank, Albury Regional Art Gallery and the Chekhov Museum, Moscow. In 2006, Tomasetti was a finalist in The Archibald Photographic Portrait Prize; in 2007, 2009 and 2011, she was a finalist in The National Portrait Gallery Photographic Prize; In 2019, she was a finalist in “The William Bowness Photography Prize” and Winner in the“International Creative Communication Award”, Los Angeles.
