Shen Shaomin (b.1956, Beijing) is a multi-disciplinary and cross-media artist based in Shenzhen and Sydney. His artistic practice spans across installation, video, documentary, conceptual painting, poetry, and public art. He is the Director of the Public Art Research Institute in Shenzhen University BenyuanDesign and Research Centre; and the Art Director of the Science + Art Joint Laboratory.
Shen Shaomin has held numerous solo exhibitions across Australia and internationally, including 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney; Eli Klein Fine Art, New York; Mucciacci Contemporary, Rome; Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing; and Today Art Museum, Beijing. He has exhibited at influential group exhibitions, including Sydney Biennale, Sydney; Liverpool Biennale, UK; Busan Biennale, South Korea; Kiev Biennale, Ukraine; Shanghai Biennale, China; Guangzhou Triennial, China; and the Shenzhen-Hongkong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen. His works are in numerous important collections worldwide.
