Wang Xin (b.1985, Guilin, China), an artist with bold artistic language, lives and works across Sydney and Beijing. Wang graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2005 and completed her postgraduate degree in mural painting at CAFA in 2010.
Working primarily with pastel on paper and, more recently, experimental silk-screen processes, Wang Xin’s practice investigates the connections between nature, the human body, and the metaphysical. Through her singular approach to silkscreen painting—enlarging her drawings and fusing them with layered imagery, then pulling colour across canvas in a single intense gesture—she creates works that embody both control and serendipity, resonating with the vibrational forces and transformations of the universe.
