Yang Xifa (b.1963, Tianjin, China) received his Bachelor’s in fine arts in fine arts from Tianjin College of Fine Arts in 1989 and his Master’s degree in 1998 from Tianjin University. In 2010, he was awarded a PhD from Nankai University. He is a professor of oriental art at Nankai University.
Dr Yang has been living and working across Australia and China since 1998. Known for his bold exploration in combining traditional Chinese painting with contemporary art experiments, his imagination crosses space, time, continents and cultures.
His works have been exhibited in China, Australia and Japan.
