Beijing Calling is the opening exhibition of Vermilion Art.
Beijing is a city with a 3000-year history, a city of tradition and memory. It is now a vast metropolis that can lay claim to being one of the world’s most important cultural and artistic centres. Beijing Calling is an exhibition of works from a group of nine artists mostly living and working in Beijing. They use different techniques and different media. They share a clear sense of the present. Their work can be seen as reflections and responses to the waves of change buffeting Chinese culture and society. Beijing Calling is an exhibition which showcases for an Australian audience the global phenomenon that is contemporary Chinese art.
